The Mighty Collectors Weapons or Vendor bought ones
Through my travels I have discovered the collectors max damage weapons of axes and swords (enchanted), bows (enchanted or >50%) also that with a few basic upgrades and "customization" are more powerful than the 100k gold weapons being auctioned for. I found the Long Sword +15%>50 at a VENDOR, put a sundering 10/10 I found on some purple weapon in one of the low level zones and a +29hp fortitude upgrade and that +20% customization and I'm good to go with the best of them with a collectors weapon or a vendor bought one for a mere 5k or some resources and a paulty amount of K for the upgrades.
With the cheapness of these weapons especially collectors so much money is saved just using these and applying cheap upgrades. I was able to get two sword Armor of Defense +5's for 3k each. And the +29hps for 10k. And most people I've talk to won't customize a gold weapon, nosireee they might want to sell it later. With a collectors weapons it's like toilet paper, just use it and toss it it's so inexpensive to remake or make more it's funny. This is much like the PVP equipment you get when making a premade lvl 20 for the arnea.
+20% is a nice advantage.
For attacking monks the sundering for sure, want to penetrate their weak armor fast and furious, probably use Judges Insight on them as well for the 40% possible chance of penetration. 10+% from str, +20% from skill and 10% chance from sundering.
The good ole 5k +15%>50 sword will work nicely for any way I want to structure it and for backup (if my health should ever fall below 50%) I have a +20%<50 that I got for 5k. (Just need to find one more good sundering drop)
People who pay 20k to 30k more for 1 more hp are silly when it comes to fortitude. The chances of surviving by 1 hp are extreme and in the millions vs the odds.
Look to the collectors items people they are cheap and just as good as most anything else out there. If you are paying 100k+ for something you are just wasting money or have a vanity complex.

I was under the impression that perfect mods (such as 10/10 sundering) weren't available on "purple" weapons, but rather could only be salvaged from "gold" (rare) weapons...

He Meant a nonprefect one.
Each lvl of Weapon has min and max values for each mod.
Like 15%>50. Purple can only go upto MAX 12>50. While Gol is a MINIMUM of 12>50.

Nope untrue, this was on a purple dmg (and the dmg was crap) sword fellblade or something like that wasn't a regular long sword though.

See, good for you. Saved money didn't you? There's really nothing worth having a load of cash for unless you are just into LOOKS. I mean I like that I can have a very great weapon for nothing, but, I'm rather used to games where you had to find them and not really be handed to you so easily. I guess I got too Diabloized. But, it was fun "gambling" for neat items too in that game.
And there's a bunch of caster 20/20 gear in the desert. The only really caster gear I haven't found yet is a "healing" wand, lot of divine, but, haven't found a collector that gives out a decent "healing" wand. Maybe these are drops only. I use a 9-13 bow at the moment for pulling with a zealous bowstring lol, but, would be nice to have a max dmg Healing wand if any are out there on collectors or can be bought from vendors. Heck you can even buy the +12 Energy +5 Armor (w/enchanted) +45 HP's (w/enchanted) healing ankh from a vendor I found. All these are 5k and some resources. Pretty cheap compared to what players are asking for the same items.
BTW if you're willing to give up +2 Energy, there is a +10 Energy +5 Armor +45 HP healing ankh in the forest just out from Druids Outlook in the next zone to the left. For 5 Ancient Eyes. Windryders drop them and they are easy to solo if you have either good dps or good healing skills.
There's a Carapace shield there also for the same with 12 Armor +45hps -2 dmg reduction (w/enchanted) and some necro and messmer gear as well that's pretty nice.

i think pretty much the ONLY reason we use Golds are because of they're style. you can't get a REAL longsword from a collector or a crafter. you can get a gladius or a razor, which are called a long sword. and no 15>50 axes out there.

Hmm that that makes sense, besides that i just survived a team arena battle with 1 hp. So yes, that 1 hp does make a difference sometimes..
True I see people paying 50k for a perfect divine staff Beacause It's gold. While I get the same staff for 5 necklaces that Grawl Drop alot. Go Collectors!!
You'd be amazed what dyes can do for a collectors item. I dyed my collectors long sword and axe a dark green and people were impressed by the kewlness of the look. And nope no collectors +15>50 axe YET, but, I wouldn't be surprised not to see that in the expansion or to be hidden in some obscure place on a vendor or collector we've all been missing. And personally I only use an axe for soloing. Rather have my longsword for regular play because they are easy to obtain in each catagory of choice, stance, enchanted or >50. They do LOOK like garbage, but, they get the POINT across as good as any gold sword of the same statistics at a much much much lesser price.

Heh don't forget there are a million accounts, so it's feasable that ONE person per day will survive a battle by 1 hp. Count how many battles now until the next time you survive by 1 hp. hehe
Theres never been a reason to get gold weapons. Why? Because nobody will see that it is special unless it has a special skin like fellblade (which I think is ugly). The commonness of special skins means they aren't so special, either. However, if you find yourslef a nice perfect weapon and you don't need to save money for armor, you don't have much of a choice do you? You ither sell or use it.
That is why it is better to get armor that is expensive than weapons that are expensive. You won't need to worry about selling them. Collector's armor isn't as good either.
Collector's weapons are just as good as gold perfect wepaons usually (except for Shield with +45HP/-2 damage recieved that is green). All you have to do is get a defense/fortitude mod with vampiric 3/1 or insightful +5 or +4 Energy and you have just as good as a gold felllblade 30HP 10/10 sunder or a ghostly staff with +30HP and +5 energy. All in all, there is reason to get collector's weapons more than collector's armor.
I can understand spending money on LOOKS if you have the money to spend, but, I think many people don't know the value of collectors weapons and that they can be made to be just as good as any of the LOOKS weapons. In fact in PVP it's fun downing the fissure armored fellbladed characters with my droks gladiator armor and collectors sword/axe with all the trimmings. Looks is superficial thing like some sort of social standing, something I myself don't need in a "game". lol
So this thread is mainly just to inform those that didn't know that collectors gear is good stuff.
ahh...i love collectors item i use the collectors earth, fire and air set =D and i use hte collectors stance sword for farming, there really good if ur broke.
might as well go with vampiric for the 3 dmg every single hit.
This is just a common misconception. Vampiric doesn't give you any extra damage. It only converts a portion of pre-existing damage into life-stealing damage. This has been tested thorougly.
Ever notice when you leave town/enter mission that ppl start...
"I'm wielding a uber-leet thingmajig"
with thier greens? Greens not only look different but also are titled. Now I'm not saying greens are better than collector weaps..I use both & prefer my collector weaps but.... green weaps are not only about looks but also about status/showing off/bragging rights.
